Cards for Puerto Rico

On November 1st, the F.O.R club held a meeting where we were asked to write colorful cards to help bring up people in Puerto Rico’s spirits that were affected by the tragic hurricane. We wanted to make a time of loss and sorrow feel like a fresh start or something that they can look at as an opportunity to start again. I think this had a big impact on the Friends of Rachel club and the school, and how we felt after this event happened. I think we all noticed how lucky we are to be able to help and comfort the individuals and their families being thousands of miles away. Many of us can say they felt good after either donating to our food drive or writing a card to help boost their spirits. This meeting was very impactful and it was important that we had it in order to open up the hearts of people in Puerto Rico.
